Bitch please
Republicans Vote Against Moms; No Word Yet on Puppies, Kittens

Yeah, that's the Washington Post, not the Onion. Ganked from  [info]elorie .  I have to laugh because I can't cry any more.

I have decided that if a person actually wants to be a politician, that should be a sure reason for disqualification. Over the years I have noted many people who say they go into politics to effect a positive change, and I can't think of any who have really done any good, or come out changed for the better, or even unchanged.

Is this an extremely cynical and pessimistic view? Yep. But I think it's also quite realistic unfortunately.

I've got lot's of friends that are really high on Obama - not so much on Hillary. I try not to talk about it with them, because I hate to burst their optimistic bubble, but come next inauguration ... nothing is really going to change at all, in any significant way. Even if he gets elected ... same song with different players.

Do you think that, say, passing the Civil Rights Act made no discernable difference?
