Bitch please
(reposted from a comment I made in [info]lukeski's journal)

I don't think [Obama's shot at the presidency] is hopeless. As a matter of fact, I think the reason Wright is in the news so much is that Obama has a strong chance, and the neo-conservative pundits are terrified of this - so much so that they're blowing all of this way out of proportion in order to hurt Obama's campaign. From the latest polls, it's not really working. People are seeing Wright as another Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton/Louis Farrakhan - so his overall impact, small as it is now, is shrinking daily.

(And why would the neo-cons rather have Clinton? Well, because her politics are closer to parallel with theirs than she'd ever admit.)

The groups putting out campaign smear ads are the ones we have to worry about - but since the Federal Election Commission is useless right now because it's missing 4 of its 6 members, these smear ads are playing with no repercussions to the groups funding them. Let's hope they have the reverse effect and people get sick of seeing Clinton putting out ads bashing her opponents so that she loses credibility.

I have a different take on all this. It's not the neocons who are gunning for Obama its the media people themselves as a knee jerk reaction for Clinton's whinning about how the media has been so pro Obama from the start.

Statistically speaking the Republicains shouldn't have had a chance in hell of winning the election this time around. I think the Democrates would be better served if they would stop fighting each other. Every dollar they spend against each other, everyday they go without attacking the republican candidate while they duke it out...is another chance they leave for McCain to save his powder for the real fight for the office.

Wright is also taking advantage to get his name out there - he can now count on a camera in his face for the next 5-10 years, esp. if Obama makes in it.

I do think that there's something to the idea that at least some of clinton's campaign would rather McCain get in, so that Clinton would have a second shot, rather than Obama win this time.

Wait, Wright is in the news this week because of the Neocon media? But last week Expelled was getting hammered because the media was full of Godless Liberals.

Or Maybe it's because he's a racist nutjob?

It's all about ratings Left wing/Right wing media it doesn't matter...they eat their own. There is nothing media like better than to have the power to tear them down taht which they built up just a week ago. Have agree on the "racist nutjob" 100%.

I think Wright had a much larger chance of hurting him before Obama publicly denounced him.

I think there's still some questions to settle about how much of an influence Wright has had with Obama over the past 20 years.

That being said, I think I still like him over Hillary.
